The 2026–27 season is the 128th season in the history of Athletic Bilbao, and the club's 96th consecutive season in La Liga. In addition to the domestic league, the club is also participating in the Copa del Rey.
The season is the first since 2015–16 without Iñigo Lekue, who retired at the end of the previous season after spending his entire professional career with the club. It is also the first since the 2016–17 season without Mikel Vesga, who moved to Almería on an undisclosed fee.
