Skip Loans Pty Ltd, trading as Skip and formerly as Sucasa, is an Australian non-bank mortgage lender based in North Sydney, New South Wales. It provides residential mortgages, including higher loan-to-value ratio products that allow eligible borrowers to purchase property with relatively small deposits. It operated under the Sucasa name until February 2026, when it rebranded as Skip.

History

Skip was established in 2022 by Mario Emmanuel, Marian Emmanuel and Adam Trouncer. It entered the low-deposit mortgage market with residential loans at comparatively high loan-to-value ratios. In April 2024, operating as Sucasa, it introduced a loan allowing eligible borrowers to purchase property with a deposit as low as 2 per cent. Its investors have included Daniel Petre, Zigg Capital and 1984 Ventures.

In April 2025, Sucasa appointed Paul Coloe as head of credit and underwriting and David Ewens as head of distribution, and launched a portal for mortgage brokers.

By early 2026, broker-originated loans accounted for about three-quarters of its new business.

Rebranding as Skip

In January 2026, the Australian Financial Review profiled Sucasa in the context of changes to Australia's low-deposit mortgage market following the expansion of the federal government's 5 per cent deposit scheme.

Sucasa rebranded as Skip in February 2026. Around 70 per cent of its borrowers at the time were reported to be former home owners rather than first-home buyers.

Distribution

Skip expanded its broker distribution during 2026. It integrated its products with the Quickli platform in February, joined the outsource Financial lender panel in March, and moved broker loan lodgement to NextGen's ApplyOnline platform in May.

In June 2026, Connective launched a white-label low-deposit mortgage product with Skip. The following month, Loan Market Group added a Skip white-label product to its lending portfolio.

In September 2026, Mortgage Choice partnered with Skip to launch the nationally available white-label product Mortgage Choice Skip, offering owner-occupier and investment loans at loan-to-value ratios of up to 98 per cent.

Products

Skip provides residential mortgage loans, including higher loan-to-value products for borrowers using relatively small deposits. Mortgage Professional Australia has described its lending model as using a risk fee in place of lenders mortgage insurance. Loans are distributed directly and through broker and aggregator networks.
